Dr. Yanyo joined Corporate Research at LORD in 1981, where her research work included developing ceramic coatings through sol-gel processes, identifying mechanisms adhesive failure, authoring predictive design software for rubber injection mold design, developing alternative elastomeric materials for extreme applications, developing test methods and mathematical models to predict non-linear, dynamic mechanical properties of elastomers, and developing controllable “smart” materials and applications.
With the creation of the new Materials Business Unit of Lord Corporation in 1997, she managed the long-term research and development in electrically and magnetically controllable material development, as well as product and process development and manufacturing of magneto-rheological (MR) fluids. In 1998 she became Sales and Marketing Manager for new business development including market research, market creation and development for MR technology as well as achieving sales goals and growth in a wide variety of markets and applications. MR technology was successfully commercialized in steering systems (1999) and automotive suspensions (2001), under her watch.
Currently, Dr. Yanyo is Director of Global Sales and Marketing for the electronics business for LORD. She has responsibility for growing the high technology materials solutions for tomorrow’s smaller, faster and hotter chips and packages.
Dr. Yanyo has published numerous articles on materials development and modeling and holds 7 US Patents. She serves on several university and corporate advisory boards.
